Whitefield, Bangalore

Whitefield is also known as “The Land of Gated Communities” which is conveniently located in East Bangalore. It was originated in the late 1800s as a residential space for the Eurasians of Bangalore. It is accounted as the 9th top region out of 20 regions to live in as per the DNA-IMRS survey of Bangalore’s Best Localities. The region is developed in two concentric circles, out of which the Inner Circle faces greenery while the Outer Circle incorporates the inner one.

Whitefield came into late 1800s and till 2000s it was quite a small settlement. The region started to boom as a major neighborhood when the IT companies started to settle down. The region has one of the oldest and first information technology parks which is International Tech Park, Bangalore. Since then, the region has become a hub for the IT and R&D companies. The region is conventionally one of the regions of Bangalore and is included under BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike).
