All smaller plants and shrubs are best suited for the east or northern axis of the house. Large trees like Banyan and peepal must not be placed very close to any plot of house. The roots of these trees embed deep inside the surface of the earth and can potentially damage the foundation of the house in the long term. Also east direction is a big no for these tall trees as they would block the positive rays of the sun from entering the house.
Tulasi plant also known as basil is one of the holiest of Hindu plants from for its Ayurvedic properties. North, east and north east directions are most suitable for planting the Tulasi plant. Thorny plants like cactus on the other hand signify disharmony and disputes. No thorny plants should be planting in any location inside the boundary wall of the plot. Creepers or clingers like money plant are best suited on the main boundary wall of the house. The green effect of the cringers or creeper plants brings a positive vibe and harmonious blend in the overall vastu compliance of the plot.
Plain green lawns or green belts with grass are best suited in the eastern direction as well as the north depending on the availability of empty space in the plot design. Water bodies in the east and north axis along with the green lawn enhances the positive flow of energy.
