Constructing a house? Consider these Vastu Tips
Laying the foundation stone is the first and foremost task before the construction of the house begins. Though an auspicious occassion, it requires careful planning. Thus, here are few tips that should be taken into consideration before laying the cornerstone.
Foundation
• According to custom, one should lay the foundation stone before starting construction. Five foundation rocks are laid in auspicious moment for laying foundation.
• Before starting construction, worship these rocks before laying them as foundation. Digging in south direction of the foundation of house in Paush, Magha, Marg shirsha months gives good result.
• If you want to get your house constructed in Falgun month, start digging in the west part of land. You will get good result.
• Digging for laying foundation should be done in east direction in Bhadrapad month.
• As per Vaastu shastra, for foundation one should commence digging from north-east direction.
• Digging in north direction of land in Jyeshtha month gives auspicious result.
• Start foundation filling from south west to south east.
According to Vaastu shastra, start digging for foundation first in north east, then north west and then bring it to south west.
• At last, beginning from south east to south west is allowed in vaastu.
• Then south west to north west.
• Then south east to north east.
• At last start from north west and take it to north east.
Walls
• First of all, take care of walls.
• Walls should be straight and uniform.
• In accordance with Vaastu, a wall of uneven thickness is unfortunate.
• Keep vaastu in mind while building wall.
• It is good to get boundary wall constructed before construction of home.
• Construction of the wall of foundation has to be done from south west angle.
• Apply here the same rule of foundation filling.
• Keep height of the wall of home lower in east, north-east.
• Only south and west wall should be built to protect construction material. Get wall built in rest sides only after completion of building construction.
Basement
• There is no tradition of basement construction in ancient vaastu shastra. So, construction of basement should be done only if necessary.
• Height of basement should be not less than 9 feet.
• Make one forth of basement over ground, so that sun rays can enter to basement.
