Griha Pravesh Shubh Muhurat 2020
Your house is just a building if you are not living in it. Once you start living in it, it becomes a beautiful home. Your home is not only a structure built with cement, bricks, and stones but also a place for your dreams and memories. Home buying is accompanied by a housewarming ceremony and conducted on auspicious dates in the presence of a priest. It is believed that conducting a Griha Pravesh ceremony on an auspicious day brings good luck. Whether it is a newly constructed house or a renovated house, people organize an event for Griha Pravesh. It is a term given to an auspicious day and time for shifting into a new house. According to the Hindu Panchang and Vastu Shastra, there are some Shubh Mahurats that are counted lucky for Griha Pravesh. Those who shift into their new houses often offer Hawan Shanti and Vastu Puja so that peace and prosperity continue to flourish. We always wish that our Griha Pravesh Muhurat should be completed with rituals and without any troubles and obstacles. In the Hindu religion, every auspicious work is completed on a Special Muhurat. It is important because nobody wants to take any risk of future obstacles and issues caused by the bad effects of “Grah and Nakshatra”.
According to the Vedic viewpoint, the Falgun, Magha, Vaishakh, and Jyeshtha months are considered most auspicious for the Griha Pravesh Muhurta. Additionally, Grihapravesha is forbidden for four months also known as Chaturmas. These are the months of Shravan, Ashada, Ashwin, and Bhadrapada. The Vedic manuscripts state that this is the time when all our gods and goddesses rest including Lord Vishnu.
In some rare situations, people avoid entering their new homes on weekends, namely Saturdays and Sundays. Panchami, Dwitiya, Ekadashi, Tritiya, Saptami, Dwadashi, Dashami, and Trayodashi of Shukla Paksha are usually considered favorable for organizing house-warming ceremonies. Once again, you should remember that full moon and Amavasya are not considered suitable for this purpose.
Types of Griha Pravesh
According to Vastu Shastra, there are three types of Griha Pravesh – 1) Apurva Griha Pravesh, 2) Sapurva Griha Pravesh, and 3) Dwandwa Griha Pravesh
Apurva Griha Pravesh
If you are entering into a new home that you have purchased, then it is called Apurva Griha Pravesh.
Sapurva Griha Pravesh
If you have left your home vacant for a longer period of time and want to return to that home you need to perform Griha Pravesh rituals – known as Sapurva Griha Pravesh.
Dwandwa Griha Pravesh
When you enter the house after construction or remodeling and organize a house-warming event then it is called Dwandwa Griha Pravesh.
