Lockdown Day 24: Check Whether Your Idols Are In The Right Position

The coronavirus outbreak has upended nearly every aspect of our life. Prayer and meditation have become more important than ever for our physical and mental well being. With plenty of time at our disposal, take some time out to check whether the idols at home are at the right position and fix any vastu problems — these tips by vastu experts will come in handy. 

Puja and idols

• Idol of Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, Sun, Indra etc. should be west facing.
• Place Shri Hanuman’s idol south west facing.
• Place Shri Ganesh, Godess Durga, Bhairon baba’s idol south facing.
• Place Kuber’s idol south facing.
• Do not place idols of ancient temple in your home.
• Idols should not be placed in such a way that ones face is towards another.
• Do not place idols against wall.
• The place between north east and east is best for meditation and prayer room.
• Worship place located at north east is good.
• Lord Shiva resides at the place of head of vaastu purush, in north east direction.
• White or yellow marble is auspicious for the floor of Puja Room.
• Get God’s idol placed in east or north direction in Puja Room.
• According to vaastu, north east is good for Puja Room.
• Keep minimum weight in Puja Room.

Other Physical Infrastructure

• After worshiping ceremony, first of all get an underground water tank, well or boring constructed in north, east or north-east direction. You will not have to face Money problem.
• Electric meter, main switch, cable etc. should be placed in South east direction.
• North and east of any place should be light.
• Place your gas cylinder in south east.
• Ladder should be built in south or west wall of south west side.
• Ladder can be made on west or south wall in south west direction. Its roof should be in north or east direction.
