Set up a fruit garden on your balcony
Few things can match the joy of growing your own fruits on the balcony. Container gardening is easier than you could imagine and with so much time to spare during the work from home season, you should try growing these fruits in your apartment.
Strawberries
Strawberries are easy to grow in containers. They are perennial, which means you only have to plant them once to keep harvesting delicious fruits. You can grow strawberries easily from seeds or a seedling bought from a nursery.
Watermelon
It’s the summer and watermelons are everywhere. Simply pick a few seeds and plant them in a container and watch them grow and produce fruits happily. Watch the following video for growing and pollination instructions.
Guava
These tough plants are adaptable, making them the perfect fruit tree candidate for containers. Select a site for your container grown guava in full sun.
Passion Fruit
Passion fruit can be grown and will thrive in subtropical and temperate regions. In fact, passion fruit grows so easily, it will adapt to almost any temperature as long as frost does not reach it! You can grow a vine along a wire fence, across a balcony railing, or over a pergola. If you’ve only got a balcony to work with, fear not: you can still grow your own passionfruit. Just plant a seed in a pot and the plant can produce fruits with little care.
Pineapple
Not only is growing pineapples ridiculously easy, it is possible just about anywhere in the world. Pineapple is one of the few tropical fruits that are really well suited to growing in pots, and that means you can grow pineapple plants on your balcony.
