Vastu Tips For Sustainable Home

The Vastu Shastra considers the building site’s location, the location of gates, entry doors, and the building’s general design. According to Vastu specialists, one of the primary tenets of Vastu is to get the most out of natural forces so that we can receive the greatest energy for every aspect of life. They warn that if we stand against nature, some of the energy will be hindered, and we will fall behind in various areas of life.

  • Main Door

The house’s primary entrance door should be larger than the other entrance doors. It’s a good idea to put an om or swastika on the front door. Never put a shoe rack near the main door. Blocking the entrance to a house with a tree or telephone pole is considered unlucky.

  • Temple

Worship should take place on the house’s northeast, north, or east sides. The altar should be placed on the temple room’s northeast side. Place the temple on the floor but not directly on it. The Puja Room should be fashioned of marble or wood, and no more than one idol of the same God or Goddess should be shown. Keep the temple nice and clean by not overcrowding it with unnecessary items.

  • Kitchen

The kitchen should not be located in front of the main entryway. Cooking should take place in the kitchen’s southeast corner. Cabinets should be on the east side. According to Vastu Shastra, the Lord of Fire rules the southeast corner of the house. So, appliances such as cylinders, microwaves, and toasters should be placed in the southeast corner.

  • Bedroom

The main bedroom should be located on the house’s southwest or northwest side. Bedrooms for younger children should face northwest or west. Bed should be square or rectangular. Your bed should face southwest, and you should sleep with your head facing south.

  • Dining Room

The dining room should not be on the south side of the home. On the dining table, the family’s leader should face east. To make mealtime more enjoyable, try to establish a warm and appealing dining room. The dining table should be square or rectangular, rather than round or uneven.
