This locality is sharing its boundaries with Saligramam, Koyambedu, MMDA Colony, Mogappair, Vanagaram, Valasaravakkam, Maduravoyal, Ayyapakkam, Anna Nagar, T Nagar, Alwartirunagar, Porur, Vadapalani, Kodambakkam among others. Lambert Nagar, Ayyavupuram, Ganpat Raj Nagar, Chinmaya Nagar, Shanmuga Nagar, AVM Colony, Elango Nagar, Devraj Nagar are some of the largest colonies comes within Virugambakkam.
