How can I convert leasehold property to freehold?

Q: Hi, I have a plot of land of 400 sq yards in Mangla Vihar, Kanpur. My father had bought the property on lease for 99 years. Now he has expired, leaving behind the land to my brother and me. How can I convert the land to freehold?

You should contact Kanpur Development Authority and enquire if freehold schemes are going on.
