Registration charges and stamp duty charges.

Q: Some people say that the stamp duty or the registration charges depend on the agreement price and some say that it depends on guideline values. Can anyone tell me how the registration is done and about the stamp duty charges in Chennai for buying a flat?

The stamp duty and registration charge depends on the guideline value. If you are planning to buy a property buy it now, as by the end of December the state government is going to announce a new guideline value.
