Illegal buildings in Ahmedabad.

Q: Several constructions have come up in last few years within the 100 metre radius of the Ahmedabad monuments. Will the civic body take any steps to protect the monuments?

The ASI is taking several steps to stop the constructions with the radius to protect the monuments and if at all any new constructions is to be carried out then they have to take permission of ASI. But many residents ignored the rule and many constructions have taken place within the prohibited area. ASI official have the power to take action against those illegal buildings but they cannot do much except serve notice.
