@ Raghav, It is true that chennai corporation is panning to upload property tax rates in his website. due to this corrupt officials will find it hard to fleece citizens by demanding extra. Corporation of Chennai uploading a street-wise property tax rate of the city's 15 zones on its website.

Hi , it is good news for all of Chennai tax payer, as we know that the property tax rate of buildings in different areas varies to a great extent and in the absence of a facility to cross-check the rates, many owners, until recently, were forced to give extra amount.

The department of Chennai Corporation is planning to opt e-mail process to ensure better accountability and transparency in tax collection. the department has decided to begin sending e-mail statements for property tax. In this process the tax payer will be getting the receipt through e-mail once he pays the property tax. The civic body is also planning to resume the register your phone facility to remind people about the due date for paying tax.
