Petitioners accuse Ministry of disobedience of court direction

The Karnataka High Court on Monday directed Defence Secretary R.K. Mathur and others to be present personally before the court next week in connection with a contempt case initiated for alleged disobedience of a direction by the court in connection with a row over returning a piece of land to its owner.

A Division Bench comprising Justice K.L. Manjunath and Justice A.V. Chandrashekar passed the order in the contempt of court petition filed by Rukmini and three others who are the legal heirs of the owner of the property situated in survey number 21 and 22 of Jarakabande Kaval in Bangalore North.

The Bench also ordered personal appearance of K.L. Yadav, Air Commodore officer-in-charge of State Head Quarters, Airforce (S/W), and S.V.R. Chandrashekar, Defence Estate Officer (Karnataka and Goa Circle).
