From now onwards, the tenants staying in building owned by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have to pay for the repair works carried out in their properties.As per BMC deputy municipal commissioner, the repair fees will be recovered in the form of service charges. Many others have criticised the new norm saying the BMC properties in Mumbai are very old and some of them need major repairs, which may cost more. The civic body is putting extra burden on the tenants.
