Why is MCG Commissioner Vijay Singh Dahiya quitting from the job?

Q: He had done good work from when he joined. Then why is he quitting? What is going on?

I too appreciate Mr. Dahiya's working style.. I heard that he had cleared all pending files within one single day.. The previous Commissioner was not interested in taking the responsibility of water supply from the PHE dept. But Mr. Dahiya had agreed to take over this service from PHE dept. He had also proposed to lay a cycle track in the city and it was a good idea.

The recent property tax collection is the best example for Dahiya’s capability. Just within 2 months time he had collected Rs 40 crore tax.. But in 2011-12 the total property tax collected was only Rs 50 crore for the whole year the previous MCG Commissioner collected 50 crore but Dahiya collected 40 crore in just 2 months..not only this, he has proved his work efficiency in many ways..

Dahiya has been transferred and posted as joint secretary in the finance department against a vacant post in Chandigarh. This decision was taken all of a sudden which looks little fishy. It is yet not disclosed if there is any other reason behind Dahiya's transfer and promotion.

Hi Samrat, many are feeling the same way.. Though Dahiya had come to the post only two months before, the developmental works were done in full swing. Few days ago, Dahiya received his transfer orders all of a sudden. And it seems like the developmental works will again be lagging behind from now. Not all the commissioners will work as efficiently to complete the projects correctly and within said time.
