Q: Many people had applied for regularising their lands in Rangareddy. But I heard many have been rejected. What is the reason? When they will be finalised?

The administration has powers to declare the rejected applicants as land grabbers and reclaim government land at any time. But yet the government has not given any instructions for the rejected applicants. And regarding the charges for regularisation- it is done at no cost for the plots having up to 80 square yards but the plots with 81 sq yards to 2,000 sq yards were cleared after collecting penal amount.

Now what will the rejected applicants have to do? Will they have to vacate from the place? IS the regularisation done for free for the approved applicants?

GO 166, was issued in 2008 to regularise encroached government land which was concluded in September the same year. Later the government directed regularisation of the encroached land by collecting penal amount in cases where the land was occupied prior to 2003.

More than 90,000 applications were submitted and in this above 75,000 have been rejected by the authority. Regularisation will be done only for the residents who have were living there from before 2003 itself. After 2003 it is not allowed. Many people who occupied land after 2003 have also applied for regularisation and they are rejected.

Yes Sandesh, many applicants have applied using fake documents. Though they were not living in those plots, they just tried to get the land in their name by these tricks.
