You are right Hemant.. as per sources, the sharing experience with GDA was not pleasant for the GMC. Earlier, GDA had assured to pay the money for the land which it sold to private builders but never did and the outstanding amount has gone to Rs 500 crore. Because of this reason, the municipal corporation has denied the funds for the metro project it seems. Since metro is very important need, the municipality has requested the state government to provide funds.
This is funny guys.. metro project is very important to a city, and the govt is giving any fund to it??? Are the authorities so dumb.. I have heard that in other states, governments are funding the metro project and additional will be taken by others..
Hey guys... around Rs 15,000 crore grant has been approved by the central government in the recent state budget for the Lucknow metro project. But the government has not allocated any fund for Ghaziabad metro project.
Hey guys, Ghaziabad municipal commissioner has asked for help from the Uttar Pradesh government to overrule the board and allow to proceed with funding of the project. Anyways, this has raised few serious legal issues,
Hemant, the project has been stopped temporarily because of lack of funds. It was earlier planned that Delhi Metro will be extended from Delhi's Dilshad Garden to New Bus Stand. But now since the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation is unwilling to fund the project, controversy has started on this matter.
