Rapid Metro in Gurgaon

Q: Hi, I am happy to know that Govt has given green signal to extend Rapid Metro. Which all areas will be benefited by this move? when the rapid metro will be functional?

I think the rapid metro is going to get a little delayed as The Rapid Metro is set to miss its April 2013 deadline. According to authorities, the operations are likely to begin shortly, but they are yet to fix a deadline. The initial target was to complete the construction work by March and start the commercial operations by early April. There are several reasons for the delay, including the holdup in the delivery of equipment and the rough weather. Also, there is a certain pace at which contractors can work. However, we can hope that the authorities will start operations in May.

The extended route will benefit people commuting between DLF City Phase I, 4 and 5, independent houses and gated communities in sectors 27, 28, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56 and 57.

The network will cover localities like Sun City, Central Park, Alchemist Hospital and corporate offices situated along the Golf Course Road.

Yes, the Haryana government gave its nod to extend the upcoming Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon (RMG) network up to seven kilometres towards south to cover more areas of the Millennium City. Work on a 5 km RMG track between Sikanderpur and DLF Phase-2 is about to be completed and the service is expected to start by March 31.
