The apartment owners are happy with the court's order. It has given good decision as it has made builders accountable for the violations. Now the builder only has to pay penalty and applicable compounding charges and not the house owners.

Ardee City comprises of 1,500 flats built over a decade ago by a private developer. In about 500 units, the builder constructed extra rooms, floors and balcony which are in gross violation of the building plan, and sold the same to innocent buyers. The court has asked the DTP to remove only minor portions so that the building structure is not affected. It has clearly stated that the builder will have to pay penalty for houses where the violations are beyond 10%.

Why were they included in demolition order? Any idea about the reason? I heard that it is a very old project. Then how did any legal issue arise now?

Over 500 flats in Ardee City were included in the list of partial demolition order issued by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. I think u are talking baout the same issue..But I have no updates regarding this.
