Q: Hi..Please let me know..what is reclassification of land..?? I heard that many apartments in Chennai are being developed on reclassified land

Hi santhosh...firstly the application submitted to local body is first forwarded to the CMDA along with the recommendation of local body in a prescribed format. Further objections will be invited from the public and finally a notification in the government Gazette will complete the reclassification process.

Hello Dhiraj..reclassification is done on the basis of site, compatibility with adjoining developments, accessibility and impact on the environment.

Hi Dhiraj..A reclassified land is a land which is earmarked for a particular use (for example, residential, commercial, agricultural) and is notified in the government gazette for alternate purpose.
