Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (Griha) is a system for evaluating green buildings which was launched by The Energy and Resources Institute, the Griha rating system is suitable for all kinds of buildings in different climatic zones of the country
Green buildings are fast catching the imagination of the people. Though the penetration level is just around 5%. Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) is happy the residential sector is coming up with such buildings.
Hi Rubiya government has been launching many workshops and initiatives to promote “Green Building concept” in Madhya Pradesh. But it failed as developers need more incentives to construct green buildings.
No it is not being followed in MP..not even a single building was rates as green. Developers say that around 50-60 percent buildings in state which are now being constructed will be rated as green building.
Hi Nithyanad...A building is rated as green if it utilizes less water, generates less waste, conserves natural resources, optimizes energy efficiency and provides healthier spaces for occupants as compared to a conventional building. The evaluation is done on its predicted performance from planning to operation and maintenance.
