How to pay Property Tax as an individual shop owner in a building/ society...

Q: Hi,
we own a shop in suburb of mumbai. The building in which we have shop was constructed some time back as park of slum redevlopment.

Many owners of flats/ shops in bldg are not ready to pay property tax amount as it is a large sum of amount for everyone and we are not ready to end up paying penalty of 2% PM. Hence thinking of paying tax as an individual shop owner. Is it possible? Please advice.

Check out with the local ward office or online BMC website if it can be pad individually without any hidden charges..

Hi rahul, recently there has been a hike in property tax and CM has told to stay new property tax system for a while after many have opposed it.. You can consult with a legal advisor about the same to pay only for your commercial space and be relieved from penalty..
