For commercial plots, for building two or more floors the rates for extension fee would be two times or more times higher than the rates for residential plots respectively. The authority would allow a rebate of 50% in the extension fee in case of plots allotted to defence personnel including paramilitary forces.
12 years is upper time limit to complete construction. After the completion of 12th year, further extension in period of construction would be allowed, but an extension fee at double the rates of the previous year should be paid by the allottees. This would not apply to plot sizes upto 100 square meters for which the rates would remain the same as in the 12th year unless and until increased by the authority.
Mohan, HUDA has now stopped giving upper time limit to allottees for completing minimum construction on residential and commercial plots. Earlier, it was directed that the allottee has to complete the minimum construction within two years from the date of possession of the plots.
Upper time limit is referred to the time given by authority within which an allottee is required to complete the minimum required construction of a project.
