The special code identifies each property and keeps a record of whether tax has been paid or not. The corporation has now asked its house tax department to consolidate the unique property identification code (UPIC). UPIC will now be enable the civic body to maintain a database of each property under its jurisdiction.

I have also heard that NDMC
will also issue a unique property identification code to each of the
properties and start collecting property tax from them subsequently.

The major source of revenue for NDMC comes through collecting the property tax. The move aims at augmenting the revenue without increasing the existing tax rate or imposing any new tax.

The North Delhi Corporation will soon imposed new tax rate, as thousands of residential properties in unauthorized colonies, North Delhi will be brought under the tax net.
