Hello Lakshmi, after reducing by one per cent, the stamp duty fee in Chennai is now 7% from April 2013. The registration charge in chennai is usually 1%, like in most metros. The calculation of stamp duty is based on guideline value set by the state government and not on the market value of the property.

Maintenance cost would be around Rs 2 to 3 per sq ft, also depends upon the apartment association. Wood cost would come only if the apartment is under construction.
