Hi, According to sources, authority project engineers will assess the construction locales and report if any developer is abusing the groundwater for construction reasons. Very strict actions will be made against any real estate builder observed to be mocking NGT rules. Senior GNIDA authorities have given out comparative guidelines to their project engineers.
@Anup,
In year 2013, NGT had controlled all builders in Noida and Greater Noida from pulling out groundwater for construction or some other reason. However while listening to a plea with respect to illegal groundwater extraction, NGT requested a committee to perform a surprise investigation at construction areas in Delhi-NCR & report will be submitted before October 13, 2015.
Hi Guys, As per the current news, taking after a rap from the National Green Tribunal (NGT) for their inability to limit builders from pulling out groundwater, the Noida & Greater Noida Authorities have swung enthusiastically. Kindly discuss.
Hi Anup, According to the officials, in Noida, project engineers of the city have been coordinated to constitute groups/teams and present a report within 2 days. Very strict action is on the cards for failing real estate builders pulling out groundwater infringement of NGT requests.
@ Anup, According to Mr Manoj Rai, officer on special duty (OSD), Noida Authority, all the project engineers heading the 10 work circles in Noida have been solicited to direct assessments from their individual locations. As indicated by authorities, all of Noida as well as Greater Noida's work circles covering the twin urban cities different land pockets will be examined for infringement.
Guys , moreover did you know that a single realtor drains out nearly 2.5 crore litres of water while constructing a basement for a multi-storey building. And just because Greater Noida city magistrate Pushpraj Singh Singh sealed a construction site on June 10 on the Yamuna Expressway for violating the NGT order and on June 17, he took action against another prominent builder in Greater Noida following June 19, when he again censured a Noida-based prominent realtor for letting go groundwater down the drains in violation of the green tribunal’s order, he has been unfortunately transferred to favour the builders. Such is our government.
I like the way, the discussion is taking place :) I would like to add that It is not only builders who use this ground water, there are many illegal water packaging companies who are also extracting groundwater. As per submission of a water packaging company to NGT, it extracts about 55,000 liters of groundwater in a day. On an average, 100 companies in the district extract one crore litres of water. For a litre of mineral water, they waste 5 litres of drinking water. That is shocking and worrying.
Yes, it seems builders are pumping out ground water illegally for their constructions even after a clear ruling that says this is illegal. That’s not all, the government is so corrupt that Greater Noida city magistrate Pushpraj Singh was transferred to Bulandshahr, allegedly after he took on the influential realtors over this issue.
It is sad to see the way the government is openly supporting these unlawful builders. Over a hundred realtors active in Gautam Budh Nagar district pump out over a crore litres of water every day despite an express ban by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on using groundwater for construction activities.
