I can name you two...The Tata Housing had to scrap one of its affordable homes projects because environmental clearances got stuck in red tape. Also the project in Karjat, only phase I of a large low-cost project by Tanaji Malusare City was completed. The remaining phases have failed to take off despite a huge initial demand.
This is a big issues... i am also looked into the matter and realized that in several of these locations, there was barely any social infrastructure like schools, markets, hospitals and restaurants. Some projects are located 8-10 km from the nearest railway station. Hence how do you expect to go and stay there?
These homes cost anywhere from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 35 lakh. They are low budget homes now. The issue is right... just because the roads are not good the builders are also not interested in investing.
True, outer fringes of Mumbai lacking in infrastructural development. Before the developers comes up with new big projects, they should come up with good roads and flyovers to cut down th traffic. These are very congested areas....Hence luxury buyers are not coming in to invest in here.
I think they are located near about 60 to 100 km from Mumbai. Although they say that they are registered brisk sales of smaller flats in places like Boisar, Virar, Panvel, Kalyan, Shahpur, Ambivali and Karjat.
