Ofcourse, Malaysian firm Scomi and Canadian form Bombardier have contacted state government expressing interest in the project. More picture will clear after submission of the report to PWD by DMRC. DMRC’s Principal Advisor E. Sreedharan had earlier said the project could be completed in three years if funds and land were made available on time.

There is a cold response of the Finance department to the monorail project. As it is mention in the statement that DMRS has to pay consultancy fee of Rs 180 crore in 20 instalments. The government has already paid two installments of consultancy fee.

Not very sure but i collect some information from TOI. The Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode monorail projects are estimated to cost Rs 5,581 crore. DMRC has to be paid 3% of the project as consultancy fee. It also came to know that the State Government will raise 20% fund while the Union Government will have to raise 20% and the rest will be funder by the private groups. Some Indian bank may also take part in funding the project.

Finance department is not interested on the monorail project and is hesitant to even spend amount to run the office of Kerala Monorail Corporation Limited (KMCL). The next date for submission of tender is March 31, 2014. PWD said the date would be extended again as companies interested in the bid have bid have required a longer period.
