Hi,
As per a recent survey undertaken a 1000 sqft apartment which was selling at Rs. 90 lakhs in 2009, has gone up to Rs. 2 crore in and around Wadala. Even locality like Chembur witnessed the similar trend. Flats which were costing approx Rs 70 lakhs in 2008-2009 are now costing about 1.5 crore and above. This clearly indicates that after announcement Monorail increased the property to more than double in both the localities.

Hi Praveen,
Besides the other reason being the upcoming elections which will have a major role to play in pushing the real estate markets. General public are holding on to their capacity to buy property in the anticipation of further correction in property prices after elections. The experts are banking on the upcoming general elections to bring in some positivity in the real estate market that further helps in pushing the property prices and pumping the sales. Untill then keep the fingers crossed!!!!

Hi,
By the way did you notice that launch of mono rail has not made any significant impact on the sales in real estate market so far. In fact there was so much hype being created saying that the property price will get a boost once the mono rail gets operational.

Hello Lalit,
Yes but you will not find the results immediately. It will take some time. Any infrastructure project that impacts the property market of any locality is generally during announcement phase and when it is at different stages of construction. The same happened to Monorail project. It was long pending thus, property prices in Wadala and Chembur have already pumped up by more than 100 per cent in the last 4-5 years.

Hi Kishore,
As per a recent study undertaken, it seems that Delhi has most no of 2 wheeler riders accounting for nearly 97% followed by Bangalore, Chennai and Pune. Since these vehicles run on petrol they cause the maximum pollution to the environment by emitting harmful toxics and gases.

Hi Sandy,
Yeah you are right!!!. If people stop using their own vehicles and take the public transport like local trains, metro trains, buses and monorails, the Indian city roads will be that much free from pollution and traffic chaos. Even the State Govts. are encouraging the public to use public transport as mode of commuting.

Hi,
With the introduction of Mumbai mono rail couple of days back, will this be introduced in all parts of the country?? Is this feasible considering many factors into consideration.
Praveen Modi

Hello Praveen,
Introduction of the mono rail will not solve all the traffic issues not only in Mumbai but also in other cities too. For eg, Delhi has metro rail, Kolkata has underground metro, Chennai has suburban locals and Bangalore too has a metro launched 3 years back. But has it brought down the nos of 2 and 4 wheelers on the road. Still people use their own mode of transport for commuting to work and other places.

Hey Vinay,
Did you come to know that India's first monorail has been thrown open in Mumbai last sunday. The monorail being of its first in the country has started plying between Wadala and Chembur. Will this reduce the density of the traffic on roads since presently the Mumbai roads are choked with 2 and 4 wheelers.
Rakshit

Hi Rakshit,
Looks like the pathetic traffic condition what Mumbai is experiencing at present will be solved to a great extent by introduction of mono rail in its first phase. Locals will now prefer the mono rail mode of transport than using their own mode of transport. Since it is fast, eco-friendly and fares being reasonably priced, many Mumbaikars will look to travel via this mode of transport.
