Hi..registeration of property is of top priority and should be done within 4 months. If it is not done then the previous owner or the property developer is considered as the legal and rightful owner. you will not be able to do any transaction in a property that is not registered in your name....
so please do it on a top priority is my advice....
Hello, the government says that all documents must be presented for registeration within 4 months of the date of signing.... or if this was signed abroad then the time is calculated as 4 months from teh date of receipt in India.
If this 4months have elapsed you still get another 4 months to present the document subject to a penalty that can be amaximim of 10 times the registeration charges.
Hi vikas, well if you are getting the apartment from a developer then he is supposed to register it and then give it for possession and there is no timelimit defined.
If you have bought it from another person then the time limit will be mentioned in the sales deed/agreement and mutually agreed at by the buyer and seller... you need to get it registered within that time.
