Hi..the news in is that the MCG chief has asked the engineering department officials to crosscheck all the building plans sanctioned since the municipal corporation came into existence in 2008...

Any ideas as to why suddenly the chief has woken up and want to cross check all reports and that too from 2008.. wont it be a mamoth task to do?

Well this is because it was brought to the commissioner’s notice that the plans of five buildings in Old City were passed by the corporation despite none of them meeting the prescribed norms.

Yea it seems that although there is stiff oposition to the chief,he has taken and stand and wants to check all buildings now... he has directed the engineering department officials to start demolition proceedings in case a building plan is found to have been passed in violation of the prescribed norms.
