The main reason for the steady growth in this locality is its proximity to Hinjewadi IT Park, Rajiv Gandhi Techno Park and Mumbai Pune Expressway. A Lot of commercial buildings are coming up on Balewadi Stadium Road. A bridge was inaugurated from Balewadi to Pimple Nilakh connecting Balewadi to suburbs across Mula river. PMC is also planning bus rapid transit from Airport to Balewadi.
