Kolathur Locality Review

Q: I am planning to buy a property in Kolathur . I have recently shifted from Mumbai. Please let me know if the locality safe ? Please let me know if it is a good idea to buy a property for investment purpose ?

Thank you for the quick response. I heard there are many reputed colleges here. Can you name some reputed schools and colleges ? How is the social infrastructure there ?

@Vivek: Several schools are situated in this locality such as Vivekanda Vidhalaya, Everwin Metric. Hr. Secondary School, Don Bosco Srinivasa Nagar and Don Bosco Metric. Hr. Secondary School and Peravallur. DRJ Hospital is located in this area. Due to expensive living in areas in Anna Nagar, Villivakkam, Perambur, Puzhal and Madhavaram, many people are opting to stay in Kolathur.

@Balwinder: There are direct buses from Ayanavaram, Broadway and Anna Nagar to this locality. By road It can be reached through Perambur, Anna Nagar and Korattur. The Meenambakkam airport is about 20 kilometers away. Well connected by autos, buses and taxis, Kolathur is near to the airport. Important roads include Grand Northern Trunk Road(NH 5) and Inner Ring Road. Villivakkam and Perambur Loco Works railway stations and a bust depot connect it to other parts of Chennai

Average apartment prices in this locality range from Rs. 3,900 to 6,000 per sq. ft. Average land prices are Rs.4, 000/- to 7, 000 per sq. ft. The growth rate in this area is 5 %.
