@Gurmeet: Jankiram Reddy Colony,Agathiyar nagar, Rajamanglam, Sidco nagar, South Jagannatha Nagar, Baba nagar, Valluvar Nagar, North Jagannathan Nagar, Rajaji Nagar, Welcome Colony and Thirunagar are some of the localities in Villivakkam.

Villivakkam has a bus terminus which is located off Konnur High Road. Jawaharlal Nehru Road and Konnur High Road are the arterial roads encompassing Villivakkam. The construction of the long pending Villivakkam Subway was started on 4 December 2007 and was inaugurated on 19 June 2012

Konnur High Road and Jawaharlal Nehru Road are the major arterials which connects Villivakkam to other parts of Chennai. Egmore Railway station is located around 10 kms far and Chennai Central station located at 7 kms distance. Konnur High Road connects these stations. Chennai aiport is at a distance of 20 kms connected through Jawaharlal Nehru Road. Villivakkam is also served by the Chennai sub-urban railway system through Villivakkam station. This connects this area to many places such as Velachery, Anna Nagar, Ambattur, Avadi, Tiuvallur, Pattabiram, Chennai Beach, Chennai Central and Arakkonam.

@Gurmeet: There are many renowned schools in Villivakkam such as Singaram Pillai Higher Secondary School, St. Johns Higher Secondary School, Don Bosco, Our Lady of Velanganni Higher Secondary School, etc. Many of these schools have good facilities and also common grounds for sports. Villivakkam is famous for its temples with many temples such as Agatheeswarar Temple, Sowmya Damodara Prumal Temple, Murugan temple, Baaliamman Temple etc.
There are comparatively many hospitals in this area such as Mohan Reddy Nursing Home, Cauvery Trust Hospitals, Leela Raj Clinic, Niranjana Hospital, DRJ Hospitals, etc.

Many prominent builders have launched projects such as Devi Builders, IKS builders, Ajitha Constructions, Kothanda Vasantham Real Estate etc. Property prices in this area vary in the price range of Rs6000-7000 per sq ft. Affordable projects are in demand wih size range of 700-1200 sq ft. The rents are in the range of Rs 8000-12000 per month.

@Komathi, Villivakkam is a residential neighbourhood with a lot of temples. Mostly it is comprised of working class people who work in manufacturing units. There are some industrial estate surrounding the area namely Padi, Ambattur, ICF and Perambur Loco Works. This area is also a good for investment zone considering good rental yield. Typically, North Chennai’s real estate market is driven by public sector employees, the trader community and port-related activities relevant within the region. Additionally the population here is also dependent for employment either on large industrial enterprises or the public sector. As far as investment concept is concerned, you can get good returns within 4 to 5 years.

Yes Pranab, also this is a very good locality in Chennai City. Just 1minutes to Villivakkam Railway Station & 5 minutes to Villivakkam bus stand. It is very near to Anna Nagar, ICF and Kolathur. We may get all benefits of Anna Nagar with incomparable prices. Famous Agastheeswarar Temple and Dhamodara Perumal Temple are available in this locality. All the facilities like school, mall and market are available in this locality.

Good infrastructure and convenient living conditions have made this place popular among the working class. It covers a huge area, which is expanded from Anna Nagar in south to Madavaram in north and from Ayanavaram in east to Korattur in West. Ambattur industrial estate and integral coach factory are also located near Villivakkam. On going Vilivakkam sub way is increasing the land rates. So attracts many promoters, and worthy investment.

Hey can anyone tell me some of the good localities in Vilivakkam ?? How is the accessibility and connectivity from Madipakkam to other parts of the city? I heard the bus service is good.
