Punjagutta locality details for residential purposes

Q: I work in Ameerpet, and I’m finding it really annoying to get till there from Nacharam every day. In order to avert this situation, I’m planning to rent a place in Punjagutta. Tell me about the good stuff as well as the bad stuff associated with this place.

The problem was garbage dumping in the drains, merger of sewerage lines and water supply lines, service cables crossing the storm water drain, were all obstructing free flow of water. The sewage seeped onto the streets and this posed serious health concerns. The area stank and traffic stopped for atleast an hour.

The GHMC has a number of pending projects here that they need to get done with. The nala works at Punjagutta have been going on for at least 6 years. Apparently the reason for the delay in project works is because of heavy traffic on the road.

This 60 ft high station will also have U shaped piers, unlike all the other stations which have single piers. The construction work is pretty challenging, as it has to pass over many of the existing flyovers in the city

If commuting is your worry, then relax. There will be a metro station right here in the locality on the Miyapur - LB Nagar line. In fact its supposed to be the tallest metro structure in the city. Its actually because the upcoming metro station has to be built above the existing flyover in panjagutta.

Commercial office space is abundantly available in Punjagutta, maybe more so than residential space. Property prices keep fluctuating in Punjagutta depending upon various other factors. At present, I’d say that renting out residential space in Punjagutta will cost you anywhere around Rs. 10 to Rs. 20 per square feet. You have a bounty of residential complexes to choose from in Punjagutta. A majority of these housing projects have already been constructed though, because this area’s been established since a long time. You can expect a typical, unfurnished 2 BHK in this locality to cost around 10 to 14 thousand per month.

Punjagutta, as may already know, is a very busy locality in Hyderabad. Apart from Ameerpet, it also lies in close proximity to Banjara Hills, Somajiguda, and Khairatabad. The name of this locality literally means hand-mountain in Telugu. Punjagutta is commercially well-developed with reputed shopping malls like Hyderabad Central and Home Town. Two famous medical institutions are located in Panjagutta, these are the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences and the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology. You don’t ever have to worry about being bored with nothing to Punjagutta. The condition of road traffic, though, is frankly quite miserable over there.

Hello! I don’t know how you manage to travel from Nacharam to Ameerpet every day, it’s just too far. I agree with you on Punjagutta, it’s a good option to consider. One downside though, is the steep price involved. Property in Punjagutta definitely doesn’t come cheap. The rents over there are quite expensive as well compared to other localities. See, Punjagutta is commercial as well as residential. If you go onto the main road, you’ll see a number of jewellery stores, movie theatres, clothing stores, banks, and so on. You won’t lack for amenities, but you’ll have to manage within the pollution and dense crowd.
