Future of Hyderabad infrastructure

Q: What plans are there for the general growth of Hyderabad infrastructure in the upcoming future? I mean, will it be able to support the huge influx of people?

By the way, not just that dedicated power line from Chhattisgarh, I’ve come to know that they are also going to look into more renewable sources of energy systems like wind, solar etc. There was a meeting recently where the CM K C Rao discussed a bunch of important infrastructure initiative that need to be taken with a group of major corporate officials. I think they are planning to emulate the single window clearance (SWC) system of Singapore. Under that we can expect clearances within 20-22 days.

Yes, there are steps being taken to ensure that at least the power supply is more regularised in the city. I’ve heard that they are planning to draw power from the neighbouring state of Chhattisgarh. There is going to be an entirely dedicated line for this purpose, so you can be ensured of a steady power supply. Also the CM has been advised to build major industrial corridors from Hyderabad to other major cities like Bangalore, Mumbai and Nagpur. This connectivity infrastructure development is a good idea, it will boost the industrial sector in Hyderabad even more.

Actually I was thinking the same thing just a day back. Then I came to know that our CM has a number of plans for the growth of the city. Obviously now there is going to be a surge of people coming in to Hyderabad. So what the authorities are trying to do is figure out a way to provide the basic amenities like water and electricity to all the residents of the city. Already there are some existing water problems in the city. We definitely don’t want more.
