I think its because the bus shelter has been maintained by the APSRTC, so the GHMC are not showing any initiative in taking it down. In fact the matter was brought to the attention of the Executive Director of Engineering of the APSRTC of the Hyderabad city zone – Mr Jay Rao, he said that he will ask the executive engineer assigned the Banjara Hills area to look into this problem and take care of it.

I was waiting there for a couple of days for the 127k. Two buses passed me by, they didn’t stop. So I was forced to take an auto. After that day, I have stopped waiting there. Its there right on the walkway, we have to walk through it, because it blocks the pavement. I had to walk along the carriageway actually. I don’t know exactly why the GHMC haven’t taken care of this problem. It is their duty afterall, to dismantle whatever shelter that is not being used properly.

I know which one you mean. The stand opposite the Elbit Hospital in Banjara Hills, right? Yeah, I was wondering the same thing few days ago. In fact this bus stand used to be a little behind, but it got shifted to its present location because there was some road widening work going on. I think this is the main reason. Even if people wait at this shelter, the buses rarely stop here. So the commuters have also stopped using this bus stand.
