Q: Do the authorities know why dirty water came from the taps of residential houses in Bogadi? Has the problem been rectified or are there bigger civic issues like waste disposal that Mysore has to deal with?
Sadly, this isn't even the only problem that Mysore faces. What about the waste disposal issue that is spreading far and wide all across the city? The Civic authroties are actually shying away from the issue as they clearly have no idea what to do. But the waste accumulation at Vidyaranyapuram is not a pretty site. Open land fills and dumping is never a good method of solid waste disposal. There must be more effective treatment plants and techniques that Mysore has to come up with. For example the waste should be moved to another place because the residents here are getting affected by the unhygienic atmosphere. Lots of problems to deal with here!
Did you also know that the reason for all this is because a contractor dug up a road near an apartment building complex that led the sewage to leak into the main water pipeline? I think the only ones who benefitted from this situation were the sump cleaners and tankers in the area. Even the sumps of some residents were not free from this horrific sewage water so they had to end up paying 600 to 1000 bucks to these tanker vallas to clean their sumps and give them fresh water. The residents were super angry and wanted direct action to be taken against contractors who dig up roads without even taking prior permission. And the Mysore Civic Authorities should have the sense to reimburse the expenses that these residents had to bear if they want to keep the real estate trends active in the area. Nobody likes brushing their teeth with sewage water.
It was a very shocking Monday morning when the residents at Bogadi opened their taps to find a murky brown disaster excuse for water that stank up their entire house! Yes that's right. Well done Civic authorities of Mysore! Apparently the cause was sewage leakage into the water distribution pipeline that passed the main sewage pipeline at the main Mysore - Bogadi road. Still, I mean there should be no excuse. the residents were super angry. Their sumps were also polluted and they had to call someone to get it cleaned up. This entire episode affected a lot of people in the neighbourhood and will definitely by no means be taken lighty.
