Q: Hey I have a question regarding Kukatpally. There is this open land here, which was going to be turned into a park. But nothing has been done about it so far. Can anyone tell me when the construction works are going to begin? And what exactly are the plans?
I personally feel that three years is a bit too long a time for a simple parks project to be ‘in talks’. The least they could have done is clean the area up a bit, so that our children could enjoy the place and play around a little. I came to know that even the West Zone manager Mr. Srinivas has shunned the responsibility claiming that this isn’t his jurisdiction. I checked online, on GHMC’s official website, and it clearly states that he is the person in charge for this circle.
Yeah you’ve heard right, its going to be a stadium not a park. See initially, this place was dumping ground only. It was highly unhygienic, but the residents complained and the area was barricaded off. Then they decided to make into a park, and later they decided to make it a stadium, but no initiative has been shown so far. The departments within the corporation are happy with playing the blame game and just trying to get out of this responsibility.
I heard few days ago that this place was going to be something more like a stadium, and not a park. I mean, this is what I heard from the local corporation office. But I don’t know when the works on it is going to start eventually. The spot has been barricaded now for over 3 years, and still no sign of progress. The worst part is that the residents near the park have now started dumping all their household garbage here. So the corporation will have to have a clean-up of this area before they can start their construction works, whenever that is.
I’m pretty sure you’re talking about the land in KPHB right? You know the one on Road no.1, beside the Kukatpally community hall. Because that is the only one here I know that was going to be turned into a park. Even I was wondered about what happened to those plans a few days ago, because right now it is lying in this state of total dereliction. Nobody is bothered with maintaining the basic cleanliness of the place.
