Q: Hey I heard that MUDA had a lot of developmental plants to establish layouts in Hunsur road? But I heard that horizontal expansion of Mysore is happening at a snail's pace? Why is that so?
Developing Mysore completely is going to take a very long time and for now only those areas within a 15 to 20 km radius in the periphery can be developed. But Bannur road is now much better than what it was 2 years ago and I see this area has got lot of potential.
Yeah but that was two years ago. Now there's actually a lot of attention being paid to developing the land in Mysore- Hunsur road, Mysore- Bannur road, and Mysore- HD Kote road.
Yeah and the Mysore- Hunsur road was supposed to have a lot of projects that would lead to its growth and realty demand but ofcourse, this area is now considered to be in a 'not ready to construct' stage.
Mostly land owned in the outskirts is not by Mysore corporation but private players People are more interested in purchasing land here and demand for property in the heart of Mysore city is falling. People feel that apartments in the outskirts have better provisions.
I frankly feel that land is not being put to good use in Mysore. Instead of focusing on low budget housing options for those lesser salaried class, the authorities are just falling trap into the hands of high end developers and realty players who have huge land parcels creating high demand for them.
The Mysore Master Plan of 2031 has not earmarked areas of high real estate growth. Also the well being of the citizens is compromised by the lacklustre planning of MUDA. There is a slow and steady demand for apartments in Mysore.
