Q: hello friends, there has been much development of the private housing layouts in and around mysore. but is there any plans to provide the basic amenities in these places?

Latest Answer: This is really a great initiative as it would lead to more people buying the land there. The real estate business of these layouts will also rise when such basic amenities like the water, electricity and roads are provided. But misappropriation of funds should be avoided as it happened under the JNNURM last time. Dustbins costing Rs. 5 crores were distributed to nearly 1.30 lakh households in the city for segregation of waste. There was huge corruption in this.

Q: Hi there, I wanted to know the issue related to the price of housing in mysore. Is there any news about this problem relating to the escalating price of housing? Can anyone give some info?

Latest Answer: I gotta know that the Floor Area Ratio for Mysore is pegged at between 1.25 to 1.50. This is lot lesser than that the FAR of Mangaluru which is 2.5 to 3. The stakeholders have approached the Mysore Urban Development Authority and the state government to increase this ratio. but I think there has not been a measure in this direction.

Q: Hi all, i just happened to read in the papers that the Outer Ring Road project is facing some obstacles. What exacly is this project? can anyone give me some info about this project. thanks in advance :)

Latest Answer: there is one more reason for this issue, ok...this is the railway under bridge work. But, i think this will be resolved through negotiations between the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and Railway authorities. But, i think fund is also another issue. in 2013, the MUDA proposed to impose toll on the roads as well as charge extra cess from the people who owned land by the roadside. this could tackle the problem of lack of fund.

Q: Hey can anyone give me info on the new road project that MORTH has in store for Mysore? Is this highway extension really beneficial for the city? What do you guys think?

Latest Answer: I think now the project is dropped though. Many thoughtful citizens Of Mysore have gone and spoken against the contruction of this road. They feel that the 30 crores for his project can be allocated to much more productive purposes. That is true..

Q: Hey there. Can someone give me an update on how bad the traffic is in Mysore right now? What is MUDA doing about this?

Latest Answer: The fames 6 lane ORR project which was supposed to serve as a bypass route for long distance highway traffic, only connects Bannur Road, Bangalore Road, KRS Road, Hunsur Road, Bogadi Road, Manandavadi Road and Nanjangud Road. It is yet to connect Nanjangud Road with T.Narasipura Road and Bannur Road by going around Chamundi Hill.

Q: Hey I heard that MUDA had a lot of developmental plants to establish layouts in Hunsur road? But I heard that horizontal expansion of Mysore is happening at a snail's pace? Why is that so?

Latest Answer: Developing Mysore completely is going to take a very long time and for now only those areas within a 15 to 20 km radius in the periphery can be developed. But Bannur road is now much better than what it was 2 years ago and I see this area has got lot of potential.
