Water Problems in Vadavalli

Q: I am looking to buy a flat in Vadavalli. I recently read an article in
the paper that there is a water crisis in Vadavalli. Is this true?

The water crisis in February was a burden for everyone staying in
Vadavalli and it's surrounding areas. It took a long time to resolve.
However, now the situation is fine. The Coimbatore Corporation has
diverted the water from the Pillor pipeline towards Valavaddi. So, at
the moment there is consitant flow of water to the homes in Vadavalli.
However, you can never trust the municipal corporation as these problems
happen again and again. I suggest you ask around in the area about the
current situation of water. But as of now, from what I know, there
haven't been any complaints by the residents of Vadavalli regarding
water shortage.

I stay with my family in Vadavalli and my kids go to school here. The
water situation was really bad three months ago. Mornings were the worst
as there was absolutely no water. We had to fill buckets with water at
night and then use them for the next morning. We had sent a number of
complaints to the water board but got no reply. I blame the municipality
for their sheer lack of incompetance. After two weeks, it became
unbearable and we now have moved out into a apartment complex that has a
water backup facility. I suggest you look in another area.

Yes, to some extent it is true. Vadavalli and Kavundampalayam were two
urban areas that have been effected by water shortage in the past. A few
months ago, due to the extreme weather and lack of rain, most of the
residents of Vadavalli, including me went through a really tought time.
There was no water in the taps in the morning, and this really disrupted
my hectic work schedule. Our neighbourhood had to call for water
tankers for a few weeks. This was a huge burden as the tankers would
come around 11 and many of us did get late to office. However, the
situation has been resolved as of now.
