Yeah, for instance, for independent properties (residential and posh buildings), the rate per sft has been fixed at Rs 3.50,while for ordinary buildings it is Rs 2.30 per sft.

However over 2,000 property owners have not responded to the red notice. So the SCB decided to serve form of warrants under section 101 of the Cantonment Act, 2006, on these property owners

Its great news, because most property owners have responded to the notice and paid the tax. As a result, the SCB's revenue has gone up to Rs 12 crore (till this month) from Rs 9.07 crore (last year revenue).

Yeah I heard that notice was also served for arrears in December last, for which they dont have much time on hands to make the payment

In fact they've already served notices (red) on owners of nearly 40,000 properties, both domestic and commercial, for defaulting the property tax payment of 2013-14 .

Guys I have some news about this. The SCB has decided to serve some form of warrants on 50 property owners for tax arrears. If they fail to clear the property tax dues, SCB might even take over their properties.
Sriram Gowda

What the SCB have done is, divided the Secunderabad Cantonment into five zones and deployed six tax officers who will visit each and every property and measure it for fresh property tax assessment

In fact, the SCB authorities had asked the general public to submit their objections on the triennial revision before July 18, but so far there has been no response.

Its good that the Cantonment Board has finally announced a revised triennial assessment between April 1, 2012 and March 31, 2015.
Radha Reddy

Actually this tax revision is supposed to happen triennially, which means that once in three years. But for various reasons it hasnt happened for this long in the past.
