Yes. During summer obviously there will be higher demand for power. During such a crucial time if they cut power out of nowhere, it becomes very difficult. I am a resident of Vasanth Nagar in Singanallur and nowadays everyone is buying a UPS I see.
Singanallur has many small scall enterprises that cater to other industries. These tiny units work out of residential areas and when these power cuts occurred, they paid heavily. Due to no space they didn't get a UPS. This added to the unrest. Now the Corporation has made amends
It is all political. These corporation folks had promised improved electricity supply. Unitl the polling day there was no power cut. Once te votes had been cast they started cuitting 1 hour power every day!
