Welcome to Mysore. :) Hunsur Road is great selection. If you choose wisely you can stay close to the city and facilties and also avoid the hustle and bustle of traffic. The price is high right now if you want apartments. It ranges from 25 lakhs to 55 lakhs.
Hunsur Road is basically the escape route from the city. It leads to Hunsur and Coorg and all that. It should take you some 5 to 7 kms from the Mysore Railway Station. But the airport is a bit far. 25 to 30 kms depending on where you live on Hunsur Road.
As far as connectivity goes, Hunsur Road provides one of the best link ups to the city. You have buses aplenty. The two major bus stops are Hinkal bus stop and S R S Colony bus stop. And if you drive, there are 3 petrol pumps before the ring road junction and 3 to 4 once you reach Vijaynagar outer main road
Yeah, basically the city starts were the ring road intersects the Hunsur road at a junction. For a family life most of the facilities are available in 3 to 4 km radius. There are hospitals like Chandrakala and Basappa Memorial which re famous and suffice all medical needs generally.
It is an upcoming locality right. That's why. Nearly 90 per cent plots only. But apartments are coming up. And facilities galore. There is St Joseph Central school if you have children. If you move towards Jayalaksmipuram then there are 3 to 4 schools there too.
The pricing of real estate on Hunsur road is variable depending on whether you want to live close to the city or away at the calmer outskirts. In general residential plots are very cheap compared to rest of Mysore. I will recommend it if you are planning on staying permanently.
If you are looking for houses, I recommend the city life. Check Vijayanagar and Jayalaksmipuram areas. Around 15 to 20 residential complexes are here in this area. You can get more info on http://www.commonfloor.com/hunsur-road-mysore/lvp-4ty97m
You could also try Kalidasa Road, but it might be costlier. Depending on your workplace on Hunsur road, you can decide. Kalidasa road will lead you to Jayalaksmipuram and it is like a hub for banks, hospitals and all that.
Actually, when you say Hunsur Road in Mysore it is the stretch from Bilikere to Mandi Mohalla and is the main road for almost 4 to 5 major localities in Mysore. For eg: Nagawala, Ilavala Hobli on the outskirts and Vijaynagar in the city
Ah. Welcome to Mysore! And Happy Dasara! :D Hunsur Road is one of the main arteries of Mysore, as it connects the city to Coorg and other districts. Some of the early constructions of Mysore are on this road. And right now it is in demand for real estate as well.
