Hey there buddy, yeah the situation in Selvapuram is really bad. The roads are in very bad condition and keep getting worse with each passing day. The councellor of the area just keeps reassuring the residents, without actually taking up any restoration work.
Sadly, the condition of roads in Selvapuram is very bad. Especially during monsoons, wide potholes are created in the road, and they get filled with dirty water. These acts as a breeding ground for insects as well. The biggest safety threat is caused to the school children who travel through that road in vans and small school buses.
Yeah, of course unless the civic body completes the house service connections it would not lay new road and that seems unlikely anytime in the near future
I dont see how the Councillor can promise such a thing, because the civic body is yet to lay pipelines from the underground drainage line to the houses.
We have gotten in touch with the Councillor, Mr. Chinnadurai, who only kept assuring us that the civic body would soon lay roads. But so far, its been a no show :(
I think that worst affected have been the school children as the van drivers and autorickshaw drivers refused to drive through the localities to pick up children at the doorsteps, so they had walk through all these roads, poor things!
Anyone trying to access the Selvapuram Main Road, will face so many problems if they try to come from Sarojini Nagar, Raj Nagar, Lala Garden, Nehru Street, Indira Street, Rajiv Gandhi Street, etc
Now we feel that it has become a regular feature over the past two years ever since the Coimbatore Corporation dug up roads for laying underground drainage pipeline and constructing manholes in the area.
The roads are so bad that I see somebody falling off his or her vehicle almost every other day. Senior citizens too have slipped and fallen because of this.
Roads are really bad man. Especially because of the rains and all na, what has happened is that the whole area is all muddy and has these huge potholes, all full of dirty water.
