Q: One thing that really bothers me about Kochi is the traffic situation. I honestly feel that as long as ease of tranportation is not increased by minimising these traffic jams, Kochi real estate will be stuck in this muck for some time. What kind of steps is the corporation taking to fix this issue ?
I think other than the traffic jams, the Kochi police is also taking steps to fix other traffic issues. The city police are taking all efforts to enforce safety of road users. The police will continue its drive against private buses and other vehicles found violating traffic rules.
The justice has already asked all these depts to repair the roads soon. If that falls through the roads will be much better, and that will definitely ease up the traffic situation in Kochi
Ive heard that the court said the traffic had to be regulated to ensure safety of pedestrians and other travellers in the city. The court also ordered that the decision of the meeting should be placed before it by September 30.
Yes, Ive heard that there's soon going to be a meeting with the motor vehicles departments and other departments to formulate a traffic regulating system for the city in the light of the ongoing metro works and bad condition of roads.
Dont worry things are going to change soon. Already the Kerala High Court on Tuesday has asked the State government, Public Works Department and Kochi Corporation to file affidavits explaining the steps taken by them over its directive to repair roads in the city.
