Pachalamm Rail Over Bridge improvement

Q: Hello I heard that Pachalam Rail Over Bridge will be pushed to 22 metres as opposed to 7.5 which is being decided now? What exaclty is happening?

KITCO has come up with this idea of a 22 metre over bridge to tackle the traffic problem in the western part of Kochi across areas like Banerji ROad ant the M G Road. The petitioners were expecting to get the hifh court to implement it.

I understand why they did that. Kochi is growing very fast and building a small bridge will definitely not solve the traffic problem which will pile up over the coming year more than now. Most of all it is a railway project and they won't shell out money easily for such projects.

KG Prasad and KG Krishnakumar from KS Udayan Road in Pachalam were the ones to file the petition. They did so with the help of P. Vijayakumar, an advocate. What they are expecting is to change the directive to build a 22 metre bridge than a 7.5 metre bridge.

So, Yes. The news is that a new petition was filed with the Kerala High Court to stall the Rail over Bridge project on the pachalam bridge. Earlier it was said that thir ROB would be about 7.5 metres in width but with this pettion everything changes.
