THat was some good thinking. But apparenlty the government has't been able to find the concesionaire that can help with the funding. Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Developmental Board's report has basically now brough this project to a stand still. Have to wait to find out what happens.

The cost of this project was actually more. It went over board to Rs. 556 crores. The government expected to briing in a concessionaire to bear the extra costs if need be which the city corporation would pay back with the help of the gvernement.

Hello. The actual reason why this happened was because the cost of labour was increasing and the corporatin was heavily dependent on the Corporation's General Fund which has several other things to pay heed to and the costs of this was briniging the functioning of the board down.

A great news this. Supplying water to 60 wards is not an easy task when the poplation is somewhere in the upwards of 10 lakhs. There are approximatley one lakh 20 thousand connections in the city. Let's see how this partnership works out.

Yes. Earlier the Coimbatore city corp.'s share was around 30 % of the overall costs. But as it turned out, with this feasibily issue coming in, the corp. has brought its share to just 10 % and has let private players to take over.

This came to happen when the feasibiloity was analysed by the Tamil Nadu government. So the thing was, spending 450 crore rupees on this project was turning out to be a pretty big thing for the corporation.which the govt. took notice of and suggested that they bring down their contributions to it.

That's really good news, isn't it? Water shortage is a pretty big thing around here. Hence, it is epxected that the COimbatore corporation has come up with some way to tackle it. It is supposedly working to make the 24 / 7 water supply happen with private partners joining in as majority share holders.

How much is the cost of this project?
