Finally Odisha government has approved proposal project of constructing 240 EWS houses by BDA for slum dwellers in Chandrasekharpur. It is a social responsibility of BDA to relocate these evicted slum dwellers. Tender will be invited for involving private builders as well as developers to build these houses.
BSUP ( Basic Services to Urban Poor) & Capital Region Development Fund will face the project cost. Bank loans will be arranged by BDA , only you have to pay 20% of the project. In a run for affordable housing, the govt has made a draft housing policy for all 2015. As per this draft, builders & developers will give 2% of their project cost to make a maintenance fund, in case of social housing projects.
Besides private builders & developers , Odisha State Housing board, Cuttack Development Authority & Bhubaneswar Development Authority have to create a fund for this social housing. These respective housing societies will manage the fund of the project for future maintenance and repair work of projects. This new policy is replacing the 2013 affordable housing policy as well as govt slum rehabilitation policy.
